AUTHOR/PERFORMER PAMELA SACKETT TO APPEAR AT
THE LOOKING GLASS, PORTLAND, ON MARCH 29
Pamela Sackett - author, performance artist, musician and raconteur - will
read and perform excerpts from her book "SAVING THE WORLD SOLO", at
The Looking Glass Bookstore, 318 SW Taylor Street, Portland, on Tuesday,
March 29, at 7:00 PM.
Okay, you’ve heard this all before ... great writing, great talent, great
author ... not news. This is different. She is different.
Pamela Sackett wrote "SAVING THE WORLD SOLO" (Emotion Literacy Advocates, 2004)
in memoir form, weaving humor and "emotion literacy" concepts into a page-turning
romp through her intriguing life. Sackett’s experiences include a childhood forged
in the boozy-hazed post-war partying of the 1950s -- replete with Lenny Bruce
recitations at age 8, and an "adulthood" as a college-hopping educational film
actress, boy-guru disciple, L.A. songwriter, night club comedienne, and prison school
teaching artist.
"SAVING THE WORLD SOLO" vibrates with the energy of an idealistic soul spinning
through life while constructing a penetrating vision of hope for humanity. Her
readers, and audiences who see her perform, will discover a new and novel voice,
resonating with truth and poetry, through the immediacy and readability of her
personal story.
